Plutôt que de construire a priori un espace d’enseignement intentionnel et programmé, comme je l’ai fait pendant des années, je propose désormais formule proche de celle des enseignements spirituels, basée sur la forme questions-réponses.
Cette forme nous permet de nous situer dans le flot de la réalité, disponible à la nécessité du moment, pour laisser se présenter ce qui demande à être appris et partagé ici et maintenant.
L’idée n’est pas de proposer des lectures individuelles approfondies mais bien de répondre aux demandes des participants. Si celles-ci concernent la théorie ou la pratique du Tarot, la réponse sera utile pour tous, et s’il y a des demandes personnelles, la méthode consistera à tirer une seule carte et à explorer des pistes de réponse, avec pour but un approfondissement de la compréhension du tarot lui-même et du processus de lecture à une personne.
Mon rôle sera, au fil des besoins du groupe, d’approfondir des thématiques centrales pour la théorie et de la pratique du tarot, en réponse aux questions que vous apportez.

This workshop will be a held in collaboration between Marianne Costa (teaching the Major arcana of the Tarot), and Giulia Troni who will offer her Feldenkrais method perspective with the subject : « roots to the sky »
Our intention, knowing each other’s work from many years of collaboration, is to offer a unique opportunity to deepen both the symbolic and the embodied approach, nourishing our living existence with the Tarot’s structure, and grounding our imagination and intuition in an authentic sensory base. We might well end up with an intuitive body dancing the Tarot!
The workshop will be held primarily in English but we both also speak Italian.
About Tarot : The first Tarot decks appeared at the end of the 15th century in Italy, and were initially intended as a mere playing cards device. But their intricate symbolism stems from the late Middle-Age, a time where the spiritual path was seen as the core of human experience. Tarot evolved through the wisdom of French craftsmen into the standard known as ‘Tarot of Marseille’, the same deck that was re-discovered by the Occult movement in the 19th century as a « Book of wisdom and Magic », and constitutes the matrix of all contemporary Tarot decks. As we study its symbology and numerology, we discover a mirror of the soul and a mandala of the visible and invisible world. Reading the Tarot is not about predicting the future. It is a fantastic storytelling device that helps us answer any « What? Why? What for? How? » questions, the only questions that really matter : the ones we need to orient our heart into action.
About the Feldenkrais Method : The course is structured as a journey into the body through the study of the subtle connections existing between the different parts: from the support base of the feet to the head, passing through the centre of gravity of the pelvis, the axis of the spine and the volume of the chest. Our skeletal structure, in continuous dialogue with gravity, is given the task of supporting our intentions to move in the simplest way possible. This is how we walk, reach out to grab an object, dance or hug a loved one using our ability to support ourselves upright through skeletal alignment, and to conduct every movement according to our will. The goal of the work is to develop a sensitivity that allows the body to become more efficient, flexible and stable, aligning and integrating the emotional and mental spheres in it.

In this second creative lab we will continue to explore the connection existing between the archetypes represented by Majors Arcana in Tarot and their particular physicality and emotional state. This second time will concentrate in two main axes: choreographic structures and the principles of Numerology in Tarot.
The symbols and allegories of Tarot are images that are meant to spread way beyond their two dimensions. In each of us they evoke space, movement, time and rhythm both in individual and in transpersonal ways. In this second exploration, we will keep working on the embodiment of Major Arcana, the « superstars » of Tarot, but also in two other direction that are less-well known and incredibly rich with possibility:
– The Numerology of Tarot: how waiting, quickening, evolution and different stages of being are evoked by numerological levels from 1 to 10
– The Court Cards: Pages, Kings, Knights and Queens are a whole universe in themselves, mirroring the Major Arcana and awakening possibilities of the human being in different directions.
I call Numeral cards, Court cards and Major Arcanas the « Three bodies » of the Tarot. Together we will explore how these three bodies resonate in our physicality, and what kind of magic we can experiment by turning to their beauty and guidance.
For this one-week workshop Marianne Costa and Agostina D’Alessandro will collaborate together to keep deepen the fascinating artistic universe that arise in the combination of these two vocabularies.
For this workshop we will select a group of 22 professional dancers, as the 22 major arcana of Tarot. Selection will be made by CV and in order of application.
The workshop will take place from June 13th to June 17th – 2022/Brussels. We will work from 10h to 17h with one hour lunch break during the day. Price of the workshop: Early bird price: €250 (paying before May 1st) Normal price: €300

Marianne Costa and the exhibition curator, Gražina Subelytė, lead visitors to an understanding of the symbolism and iconography of the works on view in the exhibition. The two protagonists of this tour/performance, which respectively represent the figures of the Magus and the Genius, will play with the “Jeu de Marseille,” a tarot deck created by the Surrealists in 1941. The original cards of the Siren, the Genius, the Fool and the Wheel can all be admired in the exhibition.
